The hydrochloride salt of TRIS, also known as tromethamine hydrochloride, is a biological buffer that we supply as a white crystalline powder. TRIS hydrochloride is an important component of buffer solutions and gives an acidic pH when dissolved into water. It is an essential buffer for the biochemistry and molecular biology lab.
